In the course of Hamburg’s potential Olympic bid, the responsible project manager has classified key aspects of opportunities, costs and planning. The focus is on a concept that builds on existing sports facilities and is to be supplemented by temporary facilities.
The aim is to organize the games compactly in the city and use existing structures. At the same time, it is emphasized that a bid should only be submitted under clearly defined financial and organizational conditions. Concrete costs depend largely on the further development of the concept and possible commitments from the federal government and partners.
In addition to infrastructural issues, long-term effects for sport and urban development will also be discussed. The plans are still at an early stage and will be fleshed out in the coming months.
