Board Meeting at Ruder-Club Bergedorf.
Under bright skies, the first board meeting of the AAC/NRB State Rowing Association after the summer break took us to Bergedorf, on the Dove Elbe, not far from the state training center. Christian Klütt, chairman of the club with almost 200 members, welcomed those present.
In addition to organizational matters, our agenda focused on the status of the North German Championships, our competitive sports sector following the U19/U23 World Championships and the Paris Olympics, and the expansion of the federal training center in Allermöhe.
We were particularly pleased with the successes at the U19/U23 World Championships in St. Catharines.
The German U19 team secured a total of seven medals, winning the nations’ ranking with one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals. The victorious JM4x was coached by our state coach Nils Meyer. The German U23 team won eight medals, placing second in the medal ranking, just behind Great Britain, and first in the nations’ ranking.
Many thanks for hosting us at RC Bergedorf. It is always a pleasure for us to get to know our member clubs better through these visits.
