The championships for German junior rowing took place on Lake Baldeney in Essen from June 20 to 23, 2024.
Approximately 1,930 young athletes from all over Germany from over 100 rowing clubs competed for the coveted titles. Hamburg was also strongly represented, and our rowers successfully won titles and medals.
The overall ranking in the German Youth Cup was won by the AAC/NRB State Rowing Association with 67 points, ahead of the Schleswig-Holstein Rowing Association (42.5 points) and the Hallesche Rowing Association (32.5 points). “Congratulations and immense recognition for this great team performance by our young athletes from Hamburg and the entire coaching team, consisting of state coaches and coaches/supervisors in the clubs & associations. The success in the German Youth Cup underlines the comprehensive successful cooperation with our Junior B project in youth development,” said Andreas Döpper, Chairman of the AAC/NRB State Rowing Association.
In the livestream via Sportdeutschland.tv, you can still watch the races and award ceremonies afterwards, in addition to the live broadcast on the regatta days, for example, the final races from Saturday and Sunday.
“It was a very successful weekend for our rowing sport in Hamburg and the result of the good cooperation between the rowing clubs & associations and the AAC/NRB State Rowing Association in youth development,” said Bernd Nennhaus, Deputy Chairman of the AAC/NRB LRV Hamburg.
