Nils Meyer honored as Coach of the Year 2023 in Hamburg.
We congratulate Nils, our head state coach, on being awarded Hamburg’s Young Talent Coach of the Year 2023!
This year, the traditional annual reception of the Hamburg Sports Association (HSB) once again provided the setting for the award ceremony.
The HSB writes on its homepage: “Nils Meyer works as the head state coach for the Hamburg Rowing Association and, through his structured and effective work, has consistently developed young athletes for high-performance sports in recent years.” He completed his certified coach training course at the Coach Academy in Cologne with top marks. One of the highlights of his work last year was the junior women’s eight winning a silver medal at the U19 World Championships in France, with a Hamburg athlete also in the boat. To honor outstanding and sustainable achievements, the HSB has been awarding the “HSB Coach of the Year” prize, endowed with 2,000 Euros by LOTTO Hamburg, since 2007. In 2018, the award for Hamburg’s Young Talent Coach of the Year was added. Nominated by the respective sports federations, the final selection is made by a high-caliber jury, consisting of Ingrid Unkelbach (Head of the Olympic Training Center Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein), Daniel Knoblich (Chairman of the HSB Board), Carsten Harms (1st Chairman of the Hamburg Sports Journalists’ Association), and Alexander May (Young Talent Coach of the Year 2020).”
Congratulations from all of us at the AAC/NRB State Rowing Association Hamburg to Nils on this special award.
You dedicate yourself to youth competitive rowing with great passion, high dedication, and extensive expertise!
We wish you continued success, joy, and all the best in your endeavors.
