On December 29, 2025, the funeral service for Dirk Schreyer, who passed away on December 5, took place in the church of St. Georg auf dem Berge in Ratzeburg.
In addition to many international titles, he was Olympic champion in 1968 in Mexico City in the legendary German eight and, as a member of the entire Olympic champion eight, carried the Olympic flag at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Munich. The DRV honored his life with an obituary.
We remember Dirk Schreyer with great appreciation. We will not forget him.
