Trainer C license course 2026
The Hamburg course will take place in the fall after the summer vacations.

The organization follows the established weekend pattern.
The 2026 license course takes place at the Landesleistungszentrum Hamburg/Allermöhe and other suitable learning locations in presence. Participation in all sessions is mandatory. In addition, each participant will shadow licensed coaches from other clubs. In addition, work is completed at home to prepare for or follow up on the face-to-face events. In total, the 120 learning units (45 min each) required by the DOSB and DRV are achieved.
Retreat for coaches of competitive sport
This advanced training course serves our long-standing successful cooperation of coaches in competitive sports in Hamburg. It is counted as further training for license renewals C and possibly B.
The content of the meeting includes an evaluation of last year’s season and a look ahead to and planning for the current season of the calendar year. Joint further training on the core topics of coaching work is of central importance. High-caliber, experienced speakers are brought in for this purpose. Most recently, the head national coach was on site for a day. Another time, the science coordinator, state coaches and specialist speakers. All of them specialists in the fields of rowing technique, training planning, strength training, general athletics, etc.
The closed meeting regularly takes place at the beginning of the calendar year.

Touring Rowing on Hamburg Waters

Exploring and navigating new waters and taking on responsibility as a trip leader for the first time are certainly the biggest challenges in the field of touring rowing. This course is designed to provide support in these areas and teach the basics for a successful (first) rowing trip on your own responsibility.

Anyone can learn to row!
True and not true. On the one hand, cyclical movement is basically quite simple. On the other hand, people, methods and materials determine its success. And these are at least as different as in the picture opposite.
Our offer is not aimed at individual interested parties, but rather at club managers, e.g. rowing and youth supervisors, who want to further develop this core task of beginners’ training in their club.
We don’t want to “know better” in the in-house event, but rather bring the trainers together so that they “speak the same language” and “pull together”. Because in most clubs, the task of training beginners rests on many shoulders in different target groups. We can all benefit from each other.
The organization should be limited to a few early evening hours of theory and practice during the week. We will discuss the specific structure and content.

Rescue course 2026
Everyone knows capsize training in the old practice scull in summer temperatures. But what to do if someone capsizes during single scull training in autumn or winter? Even worse, is panicked or even unconscious? How to rescue? Mobo, Cat, or Gig-Four? Can a training partner in a scull or a Gig-Four also help?
The DRV defines rescue proficiency in its FAQs as the ability to “rescue people in an emergency situation related to the respective sport”.
Questions of rescue and prevention will be subject to risk analysis, and rescue will be practically tested with the help of DLRG experts.
The event is primarily aimed at coaches of all age and performance levels. The number of participants is limited. “Local members” have priority.
